Description

Open Studio Access: up to 3hrs per session.  You can choose the number of hours per session that suit your busy life.

Open Studio Access Sessions are for independent use of our venco pottery wheels and a big slab roller and all other ceramic equipment.  It is available for people who have completed at least one beginner’s ceramics course of either hand-building or wheel throwing.

No instruction or tuition is provided, (but you can always ask other open studio participants easy questions.)

You can book by the hour, but always extend once you are there.

The access fee includes the use of all studio equipment, communal tools and greenware storage up to the size of an A3 piece of paper.

No clay is provided.  You can buy clay in the studio, $10 x 3kg bag of recycled white speckled stoneware clay.  You are also welcome to bring your own stoneware clay, as long as it is approved by the studio staff if you wish to have it fired in the studio. (no BRT clay is permitted in the studio.)

Stoneware firing charges are $15kg for each firing, and $15 kg for glazes for work made during the open studio sessions.  Firing of work made outside these sessions is limited.

Open Studio Access sessions are $20 per hour.  When you book, choose the number of hours you wish to be in the studio.  For example for 2 hours choose 2 items in checkout, and for 3 hours choose 3.

A condition of booking is you must leave the studio in the clean state you found it in, and put all equipment and tools back into their places, wipe down the wash-up sink area, label your workspace on the shelves, and cover your own work.

Choose your dates carefully, no refunds for Open Studio Sessions sessions once the session is booked.  Bookings are open up until the night before each Open Studio Session
